39% of Indian MSMEs are own by Women
According to data shared by MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, as of July 25, 2024, about 1.84 crore out of 4.78 crore Udyam-registered enterprises, including those registered via the Udyam Assist Platform (UAP), are owned by women. This count also considers the informal micro units exempt from GST and registered on the Udyam portal. This data reflects the revised MSME definition of 2020.
